{Queen Bee} Merry Christmas Eve!

Christmas is a day away and I finally got all of my holiday baking done! Phew....I was cutting it close, but I did it! I kept to the same color scheme as my Merry Little Christmas Kraft printable collection and created everything in red and white with a touch of a natural element (jute twine in this case). I sure do love keeping with a theme! I hope all of you managed to finish all of your holiday baking!

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

{Queen Bee} Putting Holiday Gifts Together

With Christmas only a week away are you searching for the perfect little gift for a neighbor, coworker, or your child's teacher? Every year I like to put together small gifts for my child's teachers that are cute, creative, and don't break the bank. I like to start with one of my printable collections which dictate a theme, color scheme, or overall feel of the gift. I just love how printables can work for more than just parties, with a little creativity, they can be used for so many things, including gifts! This year I went for a rustic, country feel using kraft, jute, and white and red as my color scheme.
Baking is always a must when putting together my little gift basket....sugar cookies and chocolate covered Oreos! I also included the seasonal Peppermint Bark Ghirardelli squares and covered them with my printable mini chocolate wrappers.

Hot cocoa is always warm and comforting this time of year, so I included a couple packets wrapped in my water bottle labels (thinking outside of the box will allow your printables to stretch and be used in a variety of ways). I also provided a peppermint spoon to spice up the hot cocoa!  In addition, my basket included a Hershey chocolate bar covered in a coordinating wrapper. This chocolate can be eaten by itself, used for S'mores, or added to hot cocoa for added chocolatey goodness!

It isn't too late to put together your thoughtful and creative holiday gifts!

{Sugar Bee} Police Officer Retirement Party Cookies

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending a retirement party for a really kind and extraordinary Sargeant. When I was requested to make cookies for the party I was given one wish to include in the cookies....a mustache- a feature most characteristic of the retiree. So after some brainstorming and sketching I came up with the perfect combination of mustache and police theme! They were enjoyed by all who had the opportunity to grab them before they vanished!

{Party Bee} A Pretty Petals Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving is here and after a week of preparation, it is finally time to decorate the table and surround ourselves with family and friends and remember that we are truly blessed!

This year I was very excited to decorate my table with my newest printable collection, Pretty Petals Thanksgiving Collection. I just love all of the flowers and how these printables could be used in a variety of decor styles....rustic, shabby chic, elegant floral, farmhouse, or a combination. They also compliment the food and desserts so nicely!
My sunflower chocolate covered Oreos adorned my table which looked so lovely along side the floral pattern of the printables. Why use real flowers when you can use chocolate right?! Though who am I kidding...I love real flowers, the problem is for me is that I kill them almost immediately. So if you are like me and lack the ability to keep plants and flowers alive (even just long enough to decorate a table temporarily), then try chocolate flowers!
What is a table without water bottles? I always say, if you are on a budget but still want to add some extra personalized touches, well water bottles with coordinating labels is the perfect way to go! Inexpensive and so festive....and totally practical since everyone needs water to wash down the food and goodies! Tip: laminate your labels if you want to put them in a cooler with ice.
My cupcakes took center stage on my table this year. Delicious chocolate cupcakes frosted with a pumpkin spice buttercream and topped with a pumpkin chocolate covered Oreo...perfect for those who have a big sweet tooth! I love the look of the clean modern platter resting on top of the rustic sliced wood. Mixing styles and creating my own look is all part of the fun for me!
Signs are another way to add to the decor or simply include a message to your guests in a way that won't break the bank. These frames are so inexpensive and can be purchased at Ikea and look so cute placed on the table and throughout your home! Tip: If you aren't digging the white and want the frames to coordinate with your party decor simply spray paint them the color of your choice...silver and gold are perfect for the parties that rock the glam style of decor!
I have always loved the look of place cards at each place setting. Not only is it a great way to seat your guests, but a nice way to personalize the table and integrate your company into the decor. A menu isn't necessary for Thanksgiving dinner, especially because everyone knows what is traditionally served on this day, but it does add an elegant touch to your place setting. Tip: Use the backside of the menu to do a game with the family....perhaps write down what you are thankful for using every letter of the alphabet or see who can list the most Thanksgiving themed movies.
Mason jars are always a look that I love at a party. They are simple, inexpensive a totally cute! Here I just wrapped some jute twine around the top and added a circle tag. Your guests can even write their names on the back so they won't lose their drink!
As a little gift for everyone, I created a candy bar wrapper that lets all my guests know that I am thankful for them. Also this year, I wanted to create a little activity so I designed a card that allows everyone to write what they are thankful for this past year. This can be read aloud or just kept as a constant reminder to know how blessed we are and how we should be Thankful all year long.

Today is such a special day of the year, a day where we give thanks for what we have, our health, and the wonderful people who surround us, support us, and love us everyday. Give thanks today!

I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

{Sugar Bee} Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice!

I have been baking like crazy this past week in preparation for Thanksgiving tomorrow and today was no different! Keeping with the flavors of Fall, I decided to create a cupcake that was a touch of pumpkin, but not overpowering. So I made a chocolate cake with bits of chocolate chips inside, and topped the cupcake with a pumpkin spice buttercream. Then as my adornment to the cupcake and adding to the pumpkin theme, I made mini pumpkin chocolate covered Oreos. They will definitely add to the decor if they last long enough!

{Sugar Bee} Acorn and Sunflower Sugar Cookies

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and my kitchen is just filled with delicious goodies for my table (and I am not even finished yet)! I just think they work perfectly as a delicious treat AND pretty decor for the table, especially when they are arranged so nicely in a pie platter or on a cake stand. This year I thought I would do something a little different and add another flavor, so I created chocolate sugar cookies. The acorns worked perfectly using the chocolate sugar cookie dough since they are brown anyway. Who doesn't love a little chocolatey goodness in their cookies?!

{Sugar Bee} Sunflower Chocolate Covered Oreos

To compliment my newest printable collection for Thanksgiving, I created sunflower chocolate covered Oreos. I thought that these sweet flowers would look so lovely alongside the Pretty Petals Thanksgiving Collection but also would work nicely on their own individually displayed at each place setting or even as a centerpiece.

If you haven't started planning your goodies for Thanksgiving, you still have a week left! Don't forget to check out my newest printable collection, Pretty Petals Thanksgiving Collection, for an added touch to your tablescape this year!

{Party Bee} Ghoul's Night Out Dessert Table

Halloween! My favorite time of year is here at last! This year I knew I wanted to create a table that was a little more spooky, but still kid friendly so that my kids weren't totally creeped out. So I used my "Ghoul's Night Out" printable collection as the foundation to my table. It is a black and white colored collection so it allowed me to either keep it simple with two colors, or I could add any other colors that I wanted. I did want to keep it pretty neutral, but I added a pop of color by using bright green accents here and there with the goodies I made.
What was nice about my table, is that I used everything that I already had from decorating around the house from previous years, but I decided that I wanted to incorporate all my black and silver decor only. I also found some great new things at Michael's this year that added to the table. First I saw the awesome silver skulls which were such a great deal...$2.99 each- how do you pass those up, especially when you get to use a coupon on them! Then I found cool wood spiders that were unpainted....this gave me the perfect opportunity to paint them silver using some spray paint I already had in my art stash. All so simple and kept with my budget!
The printables added some spooky phrases as well as fun imagery to the table. My "take a bite" sign gives guests the ok to eat some goodies....but they also read they can eat at their own risk!
I love making chocolate covered Oreos and so does my family and friends! I wanted to carry the skull theme out so I made scary skulls. But I also wanted to create brains- human, zombie, and monster brains to be exact! My kids are both fascinated and completely grossed out by them....I wonder who will be willing to give brains a try?!
I always love adding a sign or two just to keep with the theme. And of course a table wouldn't be complete without bottled water....it is what everyone will need to wash all of the sugar out of their system!
I have been dying to make eyeball cake pops! But instead of using a lollipop stick, I wanted to use silver forks (they are disposable). In addition to the eyeballs, I created some sprinkle cake pops as well. They look perfect resting inside striped mason jars (also easy to do using spray paint and painters tape)!
The last detail to my table is the death by chocolate cupcakes topped with a chocolate skull! I also added a couple paper cupcake toppers for an extra fun detail.

I think this year will be an extra fun and spooky Halloween filled with ghoulish goodies and lots of smiles!

Happy Halloween!

{Sugar Bee} Monster, Zombie, and Human Brains: Chocolate Covered Oreos

Second on my Halloween dessert table are BRAINS! Chocolate Covered Oreo brains of course! My table will offer not just plain ol' human brains, but also monster and zombie brains!
Stay tuned for what I have cooking up my sleeve next!

{Party Bee} We've Been BOOZED Ghoul's Night Out Printables

Last year I designed a delightfully frightful printable party collection for those who love the more spooky side of Halloween. Following the same idea, I also designed a "We've Been Boo-ed" sign to coordinate with the collection so that the same Halloween lovers could "Boo" their neighbors, friends, family, and coworkers with ghoulish goodies.

This year, I wanted to create something for ADULTS ONLY! A little play on the previous year's design but with a twist...."We've Been BOOZED"! The recipients of these will definitely die laughing when they realized they have been "Boozed" with a beverage only permitted for adults....along with some yummy treats or coordinating condiments.

Best of all....these printables are FREE! You can get a "We've Been Boozed" sign, "Eat at Your Own Risk" and "Pick Your Poison" square tags, Chocolate Bar Wrappers (designed to fit standard Hershey Chocolate Bars), and Jar labels (great for putting on jars to compliment the beverage of choice) all for FREE.

Booze your friends with Margarita Mix, Beer, Wine, Bloody Mary's, the choices are endless! While you are at it, have a ghoulish good time!

{Sugar Bee} Skull Chocolate Covered Oreos

Halloween is approaching and all my decoration are up! Now starts the making of all the ghoulish treats! First up on the menu for my Halloween table are creepy skull chocolate covered Oreos. When I originally planned on creating these I thought black for the eyes and mouth would be spooky enough, but I got the idea of using silver round sprinkles as the eyeballs.....and that took it up a notch on the creep-o-meter!

{Sugar Bee} Fresh Lemon Cupcakes

With a lemon tree in our backyard, I have always wanted to find a reason to use up more lemons. Of course we can make lemonade, but I was thinking why not use them for baking too, after all that is one of my favorite things to do! So I created a lemon cupcake topped with a lemon buttercream and garnished with a lemon wedge. They are definitely super fresh and lemony!

{Sugar Bee} Zoo Animal Sugar Cookies

{Sugar Bee} Toy Story Cookies

These fun Toy Story themed cookies are going to "inifinity and beyond"....or to Graham's 1st birthday party!

I was recently asked to create chocolate covered Oreos and sugar cookies for a Toy Story themed party. I love using the age and initial of the birthday child, so I thought how cute would it be to dress up a number "1" and a letter "G" to look like the main characters of the movie?! They are now all dressed up and ready to celebrate with the birthday boy. They will have everyone "reaching for the stars (or a cookie)".

{Sugar Bee} Cookies N Cream Cupcakes

These sweet treats may have you in a sugar coma, but they are delicious! They are chocolate cake with a surprise cookie in the middle, topped with a cookies n cream buttercream frosting, and decorated with a mini chocolate covered Oreo. These make a perfect pairing with a tall glass of milk!

{Sugar Bee} Roaring Twenties Hollywood Glam Sugar Cookies

I had the pleasure of creating sugar cookies for a momentous birthday to celebrate a special lady turning 90! The party theme is Hollywood Glam of the 1920s, since of course the birthday girl was born in that decade, so coming up with something cute, glitzy, and reminiscent of the roaring twenties was important. So I went straight for the glitter to create the glitz, and then thought a flapper girl was indicative of the twenties time period, and finally a cute 90 to emphasize the big day. All together the set is full of pizazz and they are ready to walk down the red carpet and Charleston the night away!

{Sugar Bee} Everything's Coming Up Roses!

I am definitely not the one with the green thumb in the family....my husband has that area covered! Thank goodness, because I can't keep a plant alive to save my life. But, I CAN create roses out of chocolate....which might be even better because they won't wilt. Though, keeping them out long enough to enjoy looking that them before devouring them might be the challenge!

{Sugar Bee} Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes

My kids LOVE cherries (this has been a recent discovery), but of course who doesn't, they are sweet and fun to eat, especially when they are in a yummy beverage. Therefore, I have been dying to make some cupcakes for my kids using cherries. So I made a classic chocolate cupcake and topped it with a cherry-almond buttercream and decorated it with a chocolate covered cherry. I especially love how the frosting turned such a lovely shade of pink! My kids devoured them....children approved!

{Sugar Bee} Margarita Cupcakes

I am bringing cupcakes back!
It has been a while since I have focused on cupcakes and I have decided that it is time to put some focus back on the little cakes once again! This last week I had the pleasure of whipping up some cupcakes for a housewarming party to go with a Mexican food theme. So because I knew this was an adult-only party, I immediately I thought, margarita cupcakes! These sweet treats are full of delicious lime flavor with the most important ingredient, tequila! Though they won't get anyone buzzed, they do add a bit of the margarita flavor to the cupcakes. Garnishing was easy with the addition of a lime wedge!

{Sugar Bee} Thin Blue Line Sugar Cookies

The thin blue line means a lot in my household and so creating these cookies was very special to me and a way to honor all police officers and show my love and support.

Thank you to all of the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to protect our community.
We love our police officers and appreciate all that you do!

{Sugar Bee} Birthday Cake Sugar Cookies

These cookies were so much fun to make and knowing that they were going to individuals who make a difference in our children's lives everyday made it even more special. Happy birthday to the lovely teachers receiving these birthday cake cookies!
